Ballet, Creative Dance & Modern, Jazz, Tap

Dancing Tree offers a diverse curriculum for everyone interested in moving. The goal of Dancing Tree is to provide the highest quality dance training and movement experience in an atmosphere conducive to healthy physical and mental development of all of our students. Courses in classical ballet(French method), creative dance & modern, jazz, tap, social dance and fitness programs are available to everyone, from the beginner to the returning professional dancer.

Ballet

We offer a comprehensive classical ballet program in the French tradition rooted in the Royal Academy  of Dancing. Classes include individualized instruction with warm-up, barre, center work and stretching. The program is designed to improve strength, stamina, flexibility and alignment, and to increase rhythmic accuracy and musical phrasing.

Creative Dance & Modern

Movement material is presented by means of demonstration and description to establish a physical and intellectual foundation for creative/modern dance technique. Understanding of the mechanics and anatomical structure of the human body is highlighted. The program also explores students’ personal artistic aesthetic for movement; improves flexibility, strength and endurance; increases rhythmic accuracy and musical phrasing; and encourages students to work together, take risks and express their individuality.

Jazz

Jazz has its roots in the  established techniques of musical theater such as ballet and ethnic dance. The Luigi method taught at Dancing Tree emphasizes the isolation of body parts, articulation of movement, rhythmic accuracy and musical phrasing. Strength, stamina, and flexibility are incorporated in the training using contemporary and vintage music.

Tap

Rhythm and Broadway tap are taught at Dancing Tree. Our tap classes emphasize rhythmic accuracy, sense of timing, coordination and the love of performing. It is a fun way to exercise both the brain and the body.
